National Kitchen & Bath Association

Kitchens and bathrooms should be comfortable and efficient as well as beautiful and safe, while reflecting the homeowner's style and taste. This takes highly specialized skills and knowledge. The services of an NKBA-Certified Designer can be invaluable.

The NKBA offers kitchen and bath professionals more than 100 courses to develop advanced design skills. Their Professional Resource Library is the definitive source in kitchen and bath design. Written by experts and reviewed by technical editors, the nine-volume set is the basis of the NKBA Certification Exams.

The finest professionals

A Certified Kitchen Designer, CKD®, must pass a stringent written examination requiring rigorous study. They must have at least seven years of industry experience, client references and 60 NKBA Education hours. They must also meet annual continuing education requirements to keep their certification. Fewer than 4,000 individuals are certified by the NKBA.
